As fall closes, and the snow falls, outdoor activities, for the most part, come to a close for the season. That marks many memories. Memories made in many spots, many locations. Though, for a certain group of people, those memories were made in one spot.
Multiple sports played here, but one ruled them all. That sport was soccer. Although soccer played there for the high school season, this activity was outside of that. This was the player’s choice. Through spring, winter, and fall, you could see a sort of phenomenon. Whenever you went to the turf. Rain or shine, morning or at night. There would always be players playing soccer. Groups of two, all the way to 30 or 40. Playing for their love and passion for the game. Everyone wanted to get better and help each other to do so. You could find players of all skill levels. Some had just started playing, while others were seasoned, with many varsity and college level players. None of that even mattered. No matter your level, you could always pick up a game, just having to ask. No one was denied and everyone had fun.
“It was always great at the turf, so many people always came out to play”, Senior Christopher Maio said, “That place really meant a lot to me and it was truly amazing”.

There were all sorts of games to pick up. There was small sided with the small nets, half field games, and even full field. Shooting games, dribbling games, defending games, the whole lot.
Sometimes, all the players would go eat somewhere after playing or just chill and hang out at the turf. Sometimes that was the best part. Just being there, playing with your friends was great. You could push each other to be better players. Each session, the players would improve. Everyone would give each other rides to the turf, to make sure everyone got to be there. It felt like everyone was one big family, having each other’s backs. Players would come and go, new memories made with each one.

“It was straight memories, and I could not believe how many players went”, Junior Francesco Linares said, “It honestly made me a way better player every single time I went”.
It may be sad that with the snow, the turf for the most part is unplayable. The memories made though, the improvement for the players, and the straight fun of it made it truly special. When it warms up and everyone can go, it is bound to be yet another amazing time.
