Our School & Newspaper

Established in the 1960’s, South Windsor High School (SWHS) serves grades 9-12 with around 1,400 students. SWHS is the only high school within South Windsor, but also admits students from Hartford through the Open-Choice Program. SWHS offers over 80 options for extracurricular activities and 30 options for after school athletics as well as a variety of courses to take during school hours.

The Bobcat Prowl is an award winning student news site of SWHS, created in 2016. We are a fully student run publication, where all parts of the writing, editing, and publishing are done by students. The Prowl currently sits as one of the top student publications in the United States and has received numerous awards for its outstanding coverage.
