EAST HARTFORD, CT – The Bobcats took on Simsbury High School for their annual Rentschler Field game in East Hartford and the game did not disappoint.

The Bobcats opened the first quarter with a rushing touchdown courtesy of junior Ronnie Pinkard. After that however, South Windsor struggled as Simsbury was able to move the ball with ease without much response.

The second quarter was when Simsbury took control of the game, forcing a fumble and capitalizing with their second touchdown of the game. They finished with a field goal heading into the half, 17-7.

Despite the slow start, the Bobcats got things rolling in the second half. Running back Julian Ibes put on a clinic scoring three rushing touchdowns thanks to two forced fumbles by the defense, putting the offense in great field position. A quick turnaround by the Bobcats led to a score of 28-24, South Windsor.

The Bobcats began to pile it on in the fourth beginning with Ibes’ fourth rushing touchdown of the game. Ibes was clearly a large factor in the Bobcats comeback and Jimmy Tamburro put the icing on the cake with South Windsor’s fifth rushing touchdown of the contest with about four minutes remaining.

The Bobcats would go on to cap off a remarkable comeback victory, 42-31. They’ll look to keep their undefeated streak alive and go 5-0 next Thursday at Newington. Follow us for more updates on the Bobcats.
