With amazing seasons from the winter and fall sports, at South Windsor High School, students are excited to see how the spring season will pan out, especially the boys lacrosse team. While the girls made the playoffs last year, the boys had a losing record, and they are hoping to change that this year, as every team at South Windsor High School has made playoffs so far, this year.

Last season, the Bobcats finished with a record of 3-13, and unfortunately did not make the state playoffs. This season, the boys are looking for redemption, and hoping to qualify for the state playoffs.  This year, 14 senior players are looking to lead the team to a playoff berth, which raises the spirits of the lacrosse boys. Senior captains Brett Feher, Max Plunske, and Connor Mahan are excited to lead the team to a victorious season.

Returning senior Sam Czaja is looking forward to this season.

“We got a lot of dogs on the team and we are looking forward to having a great season,” said Czaja who has played lacrosse for the past two years and is energized to end his lacrosse career with a winning season.

After the disappointing season last year, many Bobcats are eager to prove themselves, and perform victoriously on the field for a successful season.

The Bobcats already have four committed players going to play college lacrosse at various NCAA levels. These four recent commits are looking forward to leading the Bobcat’s back to a CIAC playoff berth.

Attack, Max Plunske, who went all conference his junior year, recently committed to play division 3 lacrosse at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. Defensive player, Connor Mahan, is also coming off an all conference season, and is committed to play division 3 lacrosse at Western New England University. Midfielder, Luke Taylor, is playing division 2 lacrosse next year at Young Harris College. Finally, Thomas De Haes, who is a defender is going to play division 3 lacrosse at Gordon College.

The Bobcats are starting this season with the new addition of all-yellow jerseys, and morale is high to secure winds in the new uniforms. The improved uniforms gives them a sense of rebirth, and they hope to prove that by making the playoffs this season.
