Junior Class Office Candidates

Nihaal Thakran, president of the class of 2025, has been in this position since his freshman year and has established a number of achievements all throughout his time at SWHS. When Thakran is not on the football field, he strives to create, run and initiate fundraisers and events for the junior class.

In the 2023-2024 school year, there have been a lot of memories for Thakran as class president, the most memorable being collecting funds during lunch waves as a part of a fundraiser that will help the junior class in many events, including homecoming.

“Raising funds for homecoming was very fun,” Thakran explained. “We had this jar, it was a competition to see which class would raise the most money, and in that I remember just having a good time and interacting with other students.”

For his senior year, Thakran has a lot of plans to make the year as fun and exciting as possible, making it an enjoyable last year for him and his peers.

“I’m really looking forward to making senior year fun, relaxing and just not stressful for anyone.”

Thakran has put in a tremendous amount of effort as president for his class, and is anticipating another year in his position.

Junior class treasurer, Jada Bruce, is running for a 4th term as treasurer for the senior class. (Mrs. Quinn)

Jada Bruce, is a proud member of SWHS Choral Spectrum and a member of the 2025 Class Office as the treasurer. Bruce has been in her position since her freshman year, and has put in an immense amount of work and dedication into her role as secretary.

During the year of 2023-2024, her most memorable moment as a class officer has been planning and implementing the gingerbread house competition, which was a huge success for the junior class.

“There was a lot of work put into planning the gingerbread house competition, but it was still very fun,” Bruce said. “Planning all of our events this year required a lot of hard work and dedication, but all of them ended up being a huge success and ultimately helped the class of 2025 a lot.”

Similar to this year, Bruce is looking forward to help plan homecoming, senior reception and other fundraisers and events for her class in her 4th year as class treasurer, along with the other class officers.

She believes the class officers have created a strong bond and work very well together in holding events for their class.

“We all work very well together. Normally, we agree on everything, which makes things much much easier,” Bruce explained.

Bruce is looking forward to her last year as treasurer, and ensures making it a memorable and fun year for the Class of 2025.

Adam Saada, secretary of the class of 2025, has been in his position since sophomore year. He has had many achievements in his time at SWHS. He has played football since he was in third grade and lacrosse since seventh grade. He is passionate about his athletics and academics as he is also in Spanish Honor Society. Saada strives to make the junior classes years at SWHS memorable through fundraisers and prom.

In 2024-2025 there have been many memorable moments for Saada as class secretary, the most memorable moment being the prom ticket sales.

“Prom ticket sales were great…good team bonding and getting the whole junior class together,” Saada commented to The Prowl.

For senior year, Saada plans to help make it an exciting year.

“I'm looking forward to doing good work with our class and building a community and also having good senior activities,” Saada said.

Saada has put in immense efforts for this class and will continue to work tremendously hard during his senior year as well.

Junior class vice president, Lauren Graham, is running for another term unopposed for the vice presidential position. (Mrs. Quinn)

Lauren Graham, vice president of the junior class, has been in her position since her freshman year at SWHS. She participates in many activities outside of the student office including choral spectrum. She has worked incredibly hard along with her other class officers to make the class of 2025’s junior year fun and memorable.

In 2024-2025 there have been many thrilling moments for Graham during her junior year vice presidency. Her favorite moment being the Wapping Fair fundraiser.

“We just got to meet so many people in the town; it was such a good opportunity for class officers and in general to bond with the town,” Graham explained.

Graham looks forward to working with her fellow officers next year on senior activities like senior reception.

“I'm looking forward most to planning senior receptions and senior activities; it's a fun part of the year and having one last celebration with my class” Graham noted.

Junior Class Advisor, Mr. D’Amato, has been in SWHS for 12 years and is beyond proud of the achievements of the class of 2025 officers. From fundraisers to prom, the class officers have gone above and beyond, working relentlessly to ensure a phenomenal junior year.

“The Class officers have been amazing this year,” D’Amato commented. “They have been very supportive, proactive, they put in a lot of effort for planning prom this year and overall very successful. They are also very public facing, people are able to access them.”

It is D’Amato’s second year as the junior class advisor, and he is astonished by the amount of work and dedication the current class officers have. Even though he will not get to advise the class of 2025 next year, he has some high expectations set.

“I would expect the work ethic, practice that they had this year would be the same for next year. I would anticipate them having another successful year in terms of fundraising, planning Senior Reception, outing etc. I believe that they will definitely succeed next year as well,” D’Amato explained.

This year, D’Amato had a lot of memorable moments with the junior class during the fundraisers. The most memorable being the gingerbread house contest during December, where they had teams of 3 or 4 creating gingerbread houses that were assessed by judges. It was a huge success for the junior class. Additionally, prom is also another event D’Amato is looking forward too, as the class officers put a tremendous amount of work into making it a unforgettable event for the Class of 2025.
