South Windsor Strawberry Festival Preview

On June 10th, the South Windsor Republican Town Committee will hold the 41st annual Strawberry Festival at Nevers Park. The festival will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and is a rain or shine event. Admission is free for all who want to come down.

The festival is home to a handful of fun activities including a petting zoo, train rides, face paintings, a craft fair, tractor and hay rides, and a bouncy house. 

Along with the many fun activities, there will also be a variety of delicious food to choose from.

But what would a strawberry festival be without strawberry dessert and beverages?

The festival is known for providing the BEST strawberry short cake, and if you are a little strawberry crazy after your shortcake, make sure to grab a nice cold glass of strawberry soda. If you are looking to mix up the flavor of your beverage, you can always grab a cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade. 

But again, what would a festival be without music and entertainment? The festival has a stacked lineup of entertainers taking the stage at this year’s Strawberry Festival:

One of the most popular events at the festival is the famous “Little Miss Strawberry Pageant”. This is a non-competitive event that brings out the creative flair of children and moms alike. This is a chance for  young girls to show off their strawberry themed outfits! 

Here is the lineup for the Little Miss Strawberry Pageant:

  • 9:20amTiny Miss Strawberry, 12 to 24 Months Old
  • 9:40amLittle Miss Strawberry, 2 to 4 Years Old
  • 10:00amMiss Strawberry, 5 to 6 Years Old 

The festival also holds a craft show  with vendors coming from all over to showcase their goods.
