At the end of the Avengers, many Marvel fans were worried about what to expect. Many asked what will be their next step, and, without an answer, many thought that this might have been the end.  But an interview in June might change their minds about this new chapter.

On June 20, 2022, Tom Tapp, a writer for the website “In the Deadline,” interviewed Marvel’s creative director, Kevin Feige. “I think there have been many clues already, that are at least apparent to me, of where this whole saga is going,” Feige explained, “but we’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the biggest picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the road map.”

Joe Russo, a director for Marvel, said in the same interview, “I also like the idea of villains having to team up with heroes and villains,”  Russo stated, “Anthony and I like complicated relationships between heroes in villains, we like villains who believe that they’re heroes in their own stories, so it’s all sort of built into this nation of secret war. To excuse something on the scale of Infinity War was directly related to the dream of Star Wars, which is even larger in scale.”

Anthony Russo, producer for Marvel, explained, “It would be the biggest movie you could possibly imagine, so that’s what really excites us about the story – the ambition of the Infinity saga.”

Based on this information, it is safe to say that this next movie will have more diverse characters like, anti-heroes, morally gray characters, villains with in-depth back stories, and horrible people disguised as heroes.

Additionally, a new trend that has been occurring in new Marvel movies has more people of color being the main characters of their stories and their culture is being shown as part of who they are in the movies such as Ms. Marvel, which is an homage to Muslim heritage, and that’s very important for the new generation of viewers who will feel represented on the screen.
