Girls basketball delivered a memorable season this year following a five game winning streak.

The Bobcats kept strong with a close game against Manchester with a score of 45-42. The team had a record of 8 wins and 12 losses completing the season.

Coming back from a covid season with only 11 games last year., the Bobcats played 20 this season, and won four more games than last year.

The Bobcats had four seniors leave the court this season, gaining two more than the 2020 season. Two of the seniors, captains Lexie Wheeler and Maria Galley, explain the season as memorable and something that brought the girls together.

“The bond of the whole team/program was one of a kind and we had fun everyday at practices and games. from watching us, you can tell that our connection was something special,” Lexie Wheeler, senior captain said.

Both Maria and Lexie are more than two sport athletes, and played basketball for all four years of high school.

Exiting the states the first round, Senior Maria Galley says this was still her favorite season. “The season was the most memorable of all my 4 years. We made connections throughout the whole program and all had fun on and off the court. It was the best way to spend my final senior season.” Shining on the seniors, Galley committed to Xavier last fall to continue her soccer career.

The team made it to states, on February 28th, against Windsor suffering a loss of 42-23.
