Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival Disaster

Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival was a huge hit until it took a dark and tragic turn that led to 17 people from the ages 10 – 27 injured and 8 people from the ages of 14 – 27 dead. 

 

According to Sami Anjum, 28, served as a field medic for the Astroworld Music Festival. “The concertgoers were “non-compliant” and made it hard to reach those in need, Many bystanders offered to help or directed the field medics to take certain actions but they did not understand the volume, variety, velocity, and variability of the medical emergencies we were being faced with.” 

American rapper Roddy Ricch, was a guest performer at the Astroworld festival. He expresses how he feels about what happened and how he is going to help. 

 

“Please have the families of those we lost yesterday to reach out to @shawnholiday. I’ll be donating my net compensation to the families of this incident,” Ricch posted on Instagram.

Madeline Eskins, a 23-year-old woman who passed out is also an intensive care nurse who was at the concert. She expresses how the panic of what was happening and what happened to her was crazy. 

 

“I told the security guard that I am an I.C.U. nurse, please let me look at him, The man did not have a pulse” Ms. Eskins said. “His eyes were rolled in back of his head, his pupils weren’t reacting, Then another security guard overheard that I was a nurse and he said, ‘Can you come to help us?’”

Travis Scott’s girlfriend and mother of Scott’s children Kylie Jenner is an American media personality, socialite, model, and businesswoman. She expresses how deeply upset they are about what happened. 

“I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing,” Jenner said in an Instagram post. 

“Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who lost their lives, were injured, or were affected in any way by yesterday’s events. And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community.”

 

A lifesaver and Former Marine Lucas Naccarati, a fan that was at Travis Scott’s festival, performed CPR on two people who passed out. He expresses how a wave of panic rushed through him. 

 

“That was a different world. I immediately thought, ‘This is not OK. Someone is going to die here,” he told CNN. “I’ve never seen a mass amount of bodies dropping that fast before.”

 

The organizer of the Astroworld festival Travis Scott, American rapper and record producer, lead singer in the Astroworld concert. Expresses how the event deeply affected him. 

 

“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night and I’m going to be working with the investigation. My thoughts and prayers are going out to those affected but the events that took place.”
