Socialite Kim Kardashian West recently made her SNL hosting debut in the show’s second episode of it’s 47th season, and viewers couldn’t be more shocked. In her impressive opening monologue, Kardashian roasted many members of her family, including her mother and sisters, took jabs at her ex-husband Kanye West, and even mocked herself.

When news dropped that Kardashian would be hosting SNL, there were many mixed emotions. Some viewers believed that she would flop, considering the fact that she has never done stand up, and some viewers were excited to see what she would do with the opportunity.

She took the stage in a bright pink velvet jumpsuit and opened her monologue with, “I know, I’m surprised to see me too.” The reality star continued, “I’m excited to be here tonight to show you guys that I’m so much more than just a pretty face… and good hair and great makeup and amazing boobs and a perfect butt,” she said. “Basically, I’m just so much more than that reference photo my sisters show their plastic surgeons.”

After continuing with a few more self-deprecating jokes and calling her mom’s boyfriend a gold-digger, Kardashian even roasted the show itself, saying, “I’m so used to having 360 million followers watching my every move. And, I mean, how many people watch SNL, like 10 million? So tonight is just a chill, intimate night for me.”

As her jokes and delivery managed to have the crowd’s laughter fill up the room with their jaws on the floor, she wrapped up her monologue with a joke about her ex-husband Kanye West and their public divorce. “I married the best rapper of all time,” Kardashian said. “A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”

Despite her opening monologue only being less than five minutes long, Kim Kardashian definitely made an impact on the audience and on the viewers at home. While and after the show aired, many people took to social media to talk about the performance Kardashian had given.

Lebang Moloi on Twitter said, “Kim Kardashian West Understood The Assignment & Delivered.” Another viewer with the handle BryanHii tweeted, “Idk where this confidence came from, but Kim is telling these jokes with her FULL chest on SNL … (and they’re landing!)”

There were also the haters who took to twitter to voice their disappointment at that night’s episode. “Has SNL ever had a less-qualified, less-talented host than Kim Kardashian?” said David Lazarus on Twitter.

Despite the hate, Kardashian’s family celebrated her performance online, with her little sister Khloe Kardashian saying on Instagram, “Proud is an understatement!!! I am beaming with pride and admiration towards you! Congratulations queen!!!” Kardashian’s mother also praised her daughter online, saying, “I’m so so proud of my amazing daughter Kim!!! She absolutely crushed one of the hardest stand up gigs in the world!!!! She is an absolute ROCKSTAR and I’m so proud of this accomplishment!!!”

All in all, it seems that Kardashian received a lot of support and admiration for her first comedic and hosting gig, especially for not being afraid to go all out. A source tells E! News that, “Everyone was very impressed and so happy for Kim. She’s gotten a ton of positive feedback and is very happy. She put everything she had into it and worked hard to make it the best it could be.”
