An answer that the whole world has been looking for is coming sooner than people expected. CoronaVirus has taken everyone’s life by storm. The question that everyone has wondered was when will this pandemic be over. The answer is probably sooner than you thought. In the month of December we have been hearing multiple reports of a vaccine that can help detain the virus.

During the year of 2020, COVID-19 has been an ongoing issue for a lot of people all around the world. Most people have seen someone close to them get the virus, to even celebrities. Luckily these  dark times are getting more and more brighter. As the month of december has gone on, we have seen continuous progress in the field of finding a vaccine. They are looking at sending out the first shipments of the vaccine test by the end of 2020. Expert Maggie Fox talked about it saying, “December is a month for some big decisions. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices has voted to recommend that 21 million front line health care workers and support staff and 3 million residents of long-term care facilities who have been hardest hit by the pandemic be in the first group.”

Another expert on the topic of vaccines, Alex Azar, talked about how they are planning to send out two separate vaccines and see which one works best. “To give you a sense of numbers: The first week’s allocations for the two vaccines with data submitted to the FDA are approximately 6.4 million doses of Pfizer and 12.5 million doses of Moderna.”

Last but not least, Maggie Fox talked a little more about the meetings and situation of what’s happening inside of the working area of this vaccine. “the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee — for December 10 to consider emergency use authorization for Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine, and another meeting on December 17.” This basically talks about the times that they meet up to discuss the vaccine for this horrible virus.

Covid-19 has affected a lot of families, and I think it is very important to have given this stress reliever to people. This finally gave some people hope that we were going in a positive direction.
