Prosecutors have brought upon new bribery charges against “Full House” star, Lori Loughlin and husband, Mossimo Giannulli in the college admission scandal. Both Loughlin and Giannulli have pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, November 19th and are showing intent to continue contesting the new charges. 

Loughlin and Giannulli are now being accused of a conspiracy to commit federal program bribery. Back in March, Loughlin was taken into police custody after obtaining an arrest warrant due to accounts of mail and wire fraud. Loughlin was released on a 1 million dollar bond. Loughlin has previously pleaded not guilty to money laundering and fraud.

Recently, further investigation has uncovered that bribery charges will be added to the charges against Loughlin and Giannulli. The couple allegedly paid William Rick Singer 500,000 dollars to fake athletic credentials for her daughters, Olivia and Isabella Giannulli. Upon faking these credentials, the Giannulli sisters were guaranteed spots in the University of Southern California as recruits for the women’s crew team, even though they have never participated in the sport before. Loughlin, along with 11 other wealthy parents, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and will appear in court soon.  

Loughlin and Giannulli waived their right to appear in Boston’s Federal Court to answer the latest counts. Loughlin and Giannulli had lawyers submit their pleas on their behalf. Although the investigation is still ongoing, if found guilty, Loughlin could be facing between 2 and 45 years of prison time.
