March 31, 2019
Morgan Saylor is a junior at South Windsor High School who has recently committed to playing girls lacrosse at Roanoke College in Virginia. This is a division 3 sports college. The warmth in the air and the strong lacrosse program was the aspects that drew Saylor to commit to this college.
She has been playing lacrosse since second grade, which has greatly impacted her skills and experience within this sport. In middle school, she began playing club and then soon started playing for Lax Plus in the summer and fall. Lax Plus was a program which allowed Saylor to participate in tournaments and contact coaches to evaluate her skills. Through these programs she began to develop a passion for this sport.
Her freshman year of high school consisted on many emails to coaches in order to watch Saylor play. She never really understood the stress of choosing a college until she was approached by college coaches. Saylor explains “the process was always really stressful for college but when Roanoke coaches began to contact me I kept it a big option.” Even though Saylor was approached she wanted to see if this college was the best fit for her. After speaking with students and coaches from Roanoke, Saylor knew that was where she wanted to go. Saylor chose this college due to it having everything she wanted. Stating, “I wanted to be somewhere warm and after my past experiences of college tours Roanoke was exactly what I was looking for.” As a student athlete Saylor believes she will bring hard work and her experience with the game. She will continue her skills and love for this sport in the fall of 2020 of Roanoke College.
