On March 10th, 2019, word got out very quickly that former baseball slugger Alex Rodriguez and talented entertainer Jennifer Lopez were engaged. Rodriguez made the announcement on his Instagram with a picture of the engagement ring on J-Lo’s finger with the caption ‘she said yes’.

After dating for two years, A-Rod and J-Lo, 43 and 49 respectively, are set to get married. It will be A-Rod’s second engagement and J-Lo’s fourth. Both of their Instagram accounts have been littered with pictures and comments about their relationship and love for each other. Oddly enough, they actually met close to 20 years ago when the acclaimed singer signed a poster of her for a fan. The fan’s name? Alex Rodriguez. They later met face to face in 2005 when A-Rod and his Yankees played the rival Mets and J-Lo went to watch with her husband and twin kids, Max and Emme. A-Rod, at the time, was also married with two children at the time. Fast forward to now and the two plan to get married.

The two have been very vocal about their relationship since it became public for nearly two years to the day of the engagement announcement. Lopez has been interviewed by plenty of people, including People magazine, E! News, and even The Ellen DeGeneres Show, regarding her ongoing relationship with A-Rod. Rodriguez has been less public about the relationship, but still praises his partner whenever he gets the chance. After all, he has been a bit of a fanboy the whole time. He was interviewed by The View and was quoted as saying that “She [J-Lo] is an amazing girl and one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother”. He was caught fanboying more when he was snapping pictures of her on his phone while the two were at the 2018 VMAs, so it’s clear that A-Rod is very loving of his partner. While there hasn’t been an official date for the wedding, expect the happy couple to be wed sometime in the near future.
