2016 brought us many new things, including the budding relationship between singer/songwriter Nick Jonas and “Quantico” actress Priyanka Chopra. The first time being seen out in public together was when they attended the 2017 Met Gala together as friends because, according to Chopra, they were “both wearing Ralph Lauren!” The pair apparently stayed in touch after the Gala and have left many “flirty” comments upon each others Instagram pages. On the celebration weekend of Chopra’s 36th birthday, PEOPLE magazine confirmed their engagement as of July 27th, 2018. The couple themselves confirmed their engagement on August 19th, 2018 after posting the same picture together on their Instagram.

With invitations for 225 guests, their five day wedding was enormous. It began on November 30th when the couple partook in the Mehendi ceremony in which the couple had been adorned with henna tattoos. Their families also performed choreographed musical numbers with costumes and dance numbers. The following day on December 1st, they were married in a Western ceremony in the Umaid Bhawan Palace lawn. Chopra, wearing a Ralph Lauren gown and a 75 foot veil was escorted by her mother down the aisle as a string quartet played. To comment on the overall wedding, Chopra said she was extremely nervous, yet, “As soon as the curtains opened, and [she] saw his face, it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.” Their wedding continued with the reciting of their vows at a Hindu wedding on Sunday, concluding with a ceremony in which Chopra’s family blessed her new life. This is referred to as a Bidaai.

Earlier this week, both Chopra and Jonas released pictures from their wedding, but the even bigger “Awww” moment came when Chopra officially changed her name on her Instagram to “Priyanka Chopra Jonas.” When asked about how they felt about the wedding, juniors Sydney Fournier and Shea Sullivan had similar responses.

“They’re adorable,” Fournier began. “They look like they’re really happy and I think its nice that Nick went along with her traditions.”

Sullivan agreed that they were adorable but she also offered a new insight. “I think it’s nice that she, being a lot lot older than him, still has a normal relationship with him and that they’re not caring about all of the negative opinions.”

Fans of the couple loved the wedding, but many are curious about what is next for the newlyweds.
