
Each swimmer stepped up to their lane, with nerves high they dive into the water. The South Windsor Girls Swim Team did not disappoint and had a great victory against East Catholic on Tuesday October 14th at Star Hill in Tolland. The cheering was loud and nonstop as South Windsor rushed through the water. The energy inside was unmatched and the girls rallied behind each swimmer consistently through every event.
“I love being a part of a team that is so supportive of each other,” junior Adriana Figueiredo said.
The first three events were a breeze for South Windsor. Freshman D’Chai Luangpraseuth dominated the individual 200 IM, an event known for testing both strength and stamina. Despite the pressure, she swam it with focus and powerful form, leaving the competition far behind. It was a close match overall, but South Windsor pulled through every time it counted.
“I was very impressed with how each swimmer gave it their all,” Figueiredo added. “The meet really showed how much the team has been working during practice.”
Through seniors to freshmen each swimmer contributes during each event to get the win. During the relays performances in the water stood out throughout the whole meet. The South Windsor swimmers held their pace and composure while under so much pressure. This impressed everyone in the crowds. Parents, friends, classmates all came out with unwavering support for the girls.
The win against East Catholic was a reflection of South Windsor’s resilience and relentless spirit. Their next game is Friday October 17th against Southington and the girls are ready to bring the same energy and teamwork to keep the win streak going.
“I’m excited to see what we accomplish next and I’m very proud of us.”
