Blake and Riley Lyons, the varsity soccer twins of South Windsor high school, are starting off the season strong and you can expect big things from them this year.
On the right wing is Riley. He uses his pace and technical foot skills to get by defenders. He is never distracted from his plan, and he always creates chances for the team to score with his perfect through balls and crosses into the box. You’ll find him on the field wearing number 7.
In the first two games, he has two assists.
“I like being a part of the team because it is more than just a group of players trying to win a soccer game,” Riley said. “It’s a family who always has each other’s backs and wants the best for each other.”

Blake wears number 10, and he’s been controlling the middle of the field and keeping possession for the team. With his vision on the field and his foot work, he always finds the small gaps to play the perfect pass into.
He started off the season with a goal against Manchester and two assists.
“I love being a part of the team because it is a mix of competitiveness and fun and the coaches and players are all amazing,” Blake said.
On or off the field, they are constantly bringing their team together and will very likely be captains in the future. They have lived up to their brother Mitchell’s legacy from when he was the captain of his team, and now it will soon be passed on to them. Their whole family is very proud of what they have accomplished so far.
“It’s amazing to be able to see them on the field together because they have a connection that none of the other players have,” Blake and Riley’s mom said. “However, it can also be hard when one player has more playing time or success because you want to be able to celebrate one but also comfort the other.”
