Running since May 5th, seniors at South Windsor High School have taken part in the fun competition: Senior Splash.
This crazy, wild manhunt consists of eliminating other targets with water sprayers. Everyone who participates gets assigned a target that they have to track down and spray.
However, tracking down opponents isn’t the only thing these seniors should be worried about. With the start of this fun activity, many seniors have been cautious when going outside due to the lurking fear of getting sprayed and kicked out of the competition.
Some students have even gone as far as finding secret ways to leave their houses and coordinating secret alliances and schemes with other players to get their targets out.
Since this game is all about strategy, betrayal and secrecy have played a big part in aiding people to get their targets out. Senior Ben Albert and Fadel Kafel, had a moment of betrayal in the early stage of round 1.
“This Senior Splash stuff is scary,” Kafel stated. “You really can’t trust anyone. Ben Albert made me think I could trust him to help get to my target, but I was really his target all along.”
One senior, Lauren Graham, was able to track down her target the quickest and score one for the books.
“I got super lucky because I decided to drive down Cooper Anderson’s street while he was putting his bags in his trunk,” Lauren stated. “I was able to pull right into his driveway, park my car, and squirt my water gun from my window!”
“It was truly lucky and just good timing. I hope I get that fortunate in round 2!” Lauren commented.

Even though this senior exclusive game is a fun activity, being in the eliminated group is never an exciting thing. During round 1, about 51 people were eliminated by being targeted, and an unidentified number were eliminated due to not getting their target out. Going into round 2, so far 13 people have been eliminated.
Another stand-out elimination was between 3 seniors: Lilah Cabahug, Mason Trombley, and Tyler Romero.
“I had a good friend of mine as my target, so I thought it would be easy,” Romero stated. “I was hiding in my other friend’s trunk, and my target and my friend were in the front, and I popped up from the trunk and eliminated her.”
“The moment I ran out of the car, celebrating, the person who has me as a target runs out of the woods and chases me until they eventually eliminate me,” Romero commented.
Along with this fun activity, there are junior judges who overall run Senior Splash: Sam Roux and Erin Martin
“I got assigned to be a judge by being asked by last year’s judges,” Martin stated. “Then to give everyone their target for Senior Splash, we basically randomized a list and each person’s target is the name under them.”

“After that, we then sent out everyone their target from the phone number that they gave us at the beginning,” Martin commented.
This crazy manhunt is still taking place and many are still grasping for the winning prize: all of the money from submissions (12 dollars per person).
