This past Thursday, May 1st 2025, SAT scores were released at South Windsor High School and have brought a wave of reactions from students.
Ever since the initial testing on April 3rd, students have been anticipating the release of their test scores. But no group of students have been more anxious than the juniors.
Building up to the SAT exam, many students had worries not only about the exam, but also their future.
“I felt pretty anxious honestly because it’s a big step towards college,” junior Claire Aasen said.
The process of studying and preparing for the SAT can be very stressful, and leave many students relieved to have completed the test.
“After the test, I felt really relieved because it was a very long process I started a few years ago,” junior Isha Verma said
Many students saw success in their exams due to the preparations beforehand.
“I think the day before the test its important to rest and take everything in,” Verma said
When the stress of the exam cleared, students began reflecting on their preparations and how they could have done better, as well as some habits and practices that brought their score down.
“The day before I was doing some last minute things which made me a little more nervous,” Verma said
Students, especially sophomores, practicing for their SAT next year can use these tips to help in their preparation and succeed in their junior year.
Sophomores should account for studying and preparation for the SAT when planning for their junior year, to allow for success in classes and the exam.
South Windsor High School offers an SAT prep course as a half year course for juniors.
“I definitely could have done better but it’s important to take into consideration everything with school at the time,” Verma said
