Last week, South Windsor schools honored the hard work of their teachers through teacher appreciation week. The schools provided little gifts throughout the week to show off how grateful they truly are. Staff rooms in PRS and South Windsor High School were filled with food all week long.
PRS had a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed week. The school was filled with balloon displays and candy bars. Throughout the week, there were many food options. Monday there were salads and wraps for lunch. On Tuesday there was a wide variety of snacks. Wednesday they had a choice of breakfast. Thursday there were a plethora of desserts. Friday they wrapped it up with a raffle.

South Windsor High School had a similar line up for their teachers. Monday there was a grazing table with a bunch of cheese and crackers. Tuesday there was a pasta bar lunch. On Wednesday they were treated to an ice cream truck. Thursday was a pretzel with giant soft pretzels. On Friday there was a big breakfast.
“The food was amazing,” French teacher, Mr. Ly stated. “I want to thank the PTO for putting all of this together; I really appreciate it. Tuesday’s pasta bar was especially amazing and the ice cream was so good.”
The PTO also had a huge raffle with many different prizes to win such as gift cards to Target, TJ Maxx, Dunkin, and Amazon.
“It was nice to be recognized and it felt good to be appreciated,” English teacher Mrs. Lindsay Smith said. “All the little treats were nice but pretzel day was the best. Overall it was really nice.”
Next to a cafeteria, there is a giant poster filled with affirmations from students.
