Junior athlete Josh Fine (#19) has played a key role in South Windsor High School’s lacrosse victory, excelling both on the field and in the classroom.
“Josh is a great teammate and a great person, he’s one of my favorite people to suit up next to and I’ve been playing with him since day 1,” junior Mason DeCiantis stated.
Fine has been playing lacrosse for eight years and was a key contributor to last season’s success, scoring 15 goals alone.
In last year’s season, for the first time since 2017, the Bobcats made an appearance in the state tournament where they had a close game against Hall.
“I’ve been playing with JBoog for a long time, and he sure knows how to make the team energetic. He’s a funny kid who isn’t afraid to say what’s on his mind. Look forward to seeing what he can do for us this season,” senior captain Will Castelhano said.
Josh was inspired to play at a young age due to the physical aspect of the sport and his favorite thing about playing is playing with his friends and creating opportunities for his team.
“My favorite thing about playing is being fast and being able to create opportunities for my team in order to win games,” Fine explained.
Not only is Fine a lethal shooter on the field, but he’s also an inspiration to newer players to the program.
“Josh is a great player and an even better teammate, he always gets the team hype and just knows how to put the ball in the back of the net,” junior Isaac Gerber told The Prowl.
Fine is looking toward to a good season and a good record this year and the next game for the Bobcats is this Saturday at South Windsor High School’s MPF against Canton High School.
