The South Windsor Class of 2026 will host their Junior Prom at the Hartford Downtown Marriott on May 9th, 2025 from 6:00-10:00 pm.
For many high school students, prom night is the pinnacle of their high school experience—a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable memories.
Throughout the past few months, Junior Class Officers; Jerry Zhu, Shaurya Ranjan, Ioana Luangpraseuth, and Eli Schwartzman, and Advisors; Mrs. Amanda Caless and Mr. Mark D’Amato have worked hard to ensure a wonderful experience for all.
“From securing the venue to selecting the menu, and DJ, every detail is carefully considered. Coordinating ticket sales, organizing seating arrangements, and working with vendors all take time and effort,” Caless told The Prowl. “The goal is to create an unforgettable experience, and a lot of teamwork goes into making that happen,”
Despite the extensive work that goes into bringing prom to life, Junior Class Officers believe the end product will be well worth it.
“After all the planning and fundraising, it’ll be nice to see all the hard work done by my fellow class officers and I, along with D’Amato and Caless all come to fruition for prom,” Class of 2026 Treasurer, Eli Schwartzman, explained.
In order to attend, students must turn in a completed table form with up to ten students listed, and a check of 95$ made payable to South Windsor High School Class of 2026 during lunch waves from March 24th-28th. Junior Class Officers will be stationed in the cafeteria, along with the Junior Advisors. Tickets must be purchased during this time in order to attend the event.
Students must label the top of the check with first and last name for documentation purposes, and will receive a receipt for the ticket purchase, but not a physical ticket.
Students may request less than ten per table, but if this is the case, those spaces will be filled. Outside guests will not be permitted to attend the prom without a Guest Request Form completed and turned with the checks/table form.
Students are responsible for transportation to and from the event, and must pay a parking fee of $9 when parking at the Marriott garage.
Table forms and guest request forms can be found in room 159 (Mrs. Caless’ classroom) or room 161 (Mr. D’Amato’s classroom).
With just two months left until the highly anticipated prom night, and prom tables selling in the café, excitement is building in every corner of the school.
For juniors, this magical evening marks the culmination of years and memories, and the beginning of their next big adventures.
“The junior prom is one of the most memorable nights of high school. It’s a chance to dress up, spend time with friends, and celebrate,” Caless explained. “The Hartford Downtown Marriott is a beautiful venue that adds to the experience. If you love dancing, taking pictures, and enjoying the evening with friends, prom is a night you won’t want to miss”.
