Junior Jaden Bridgeforth, also known as Jay2Green, is a three sport athlete who not only thrives in basketball, but also plays football and lacrosse.
Bridgeforth got the nickname Jay2Green by his teammates and fans because he always “greens” (makes) all his shots with ease and has become a crowd favorite over the years.
Ever since he was young, Bridgeforth has liked basketball. He’s been playing since 2nd grade, and hasn’t stopped loving the game since.
“Jaden Bridgeforth brings athleticism and strength to our team, making him a valuable asset despite being undersized. He’s a player who thrives in high-pressure moments, staying composed and focused when it matters most. Jaden’s work ethic is commendable—he’s respectful, driven, and has tremendous potential. If he continues to lock into our concepts and systems, he has the ability to take his game to the next level,” Coach Donovin told The Prowl.
Brideforth was inspired to play by his idol Kyrie Irving, who he always looked up to and tries to replicate the way he plays whenever he can.
The ‘Cats haven’t had the best start to the season, with a record of 1-5 so far, but they hope to change that around for the remainder of the season.
“We got off to a bad start, but were going to turn it around and try to meet our goal of making states, ” Bridgeforth commented.
Bridgeforth plays as a shooting guard and wears #13 on the court. He averages 8 points a game and 6 rebounds.
“He’s a great teammate, and it’s always fun to play with him,” senior captain Ethan Burke told The Prowl.
Bridgeforth always tries his hardest on the court, and is a great team player. He helps his team thrive, and puts up points whenever he can.
“The kid’s a dog. Loves to work hard and get better everyday,” junior teammate Ryder Hanes stated.
He and his team have high expectations for their season, and believe that if they put in hard work, they will make states this year and have a successful season.
