Taken a drive down Sullivan Avenue lately? Well if you have, you might have noticed that there is some construction going on there. As of December 8th, the Dunkin’ Donuts on Sullivan Ave, has been closed due to the renovations going on in the building.
Lately, there have been many noticeable signs that this Dunkin’ needed renovations. If you take a look at all the other Dunkins around town, you’ll see that all of them occupied their own building.
However, the Dunkin’ on Sullivan Ave shares a building with a couple other stores.
“I noticed during my time working there that we were using old equipment that needed some rework,” senior Fadel Kafel told The Prowl.
This Dunkin had faulty machines. This has been a problem for a long time and many people would prefer to get their Dunkin delights at another location.
“There was a sticker machine that was used to put expiration dates on iced coffee products. It was always broken, and I would manually have to write the dates, which was pretty annoying,” Kafel explained.
Now, obviously all restaurants could use a renovation every now and then, but the Sullivan Ave Dunkin’ has been due a renovation for years on end.
The new and renovated Dunkin will help jumpstart the day for many people all around town and many SWHS students, since it is located close to the school, they will be able to have higher quality meals before they start off their day for school.
Hopefully in the future, some of the other old buildings in South Windsor, like Giessler’s, will also be renovated so the people of south Windsor can have nice new buildings to shop and eat at.
