On Saturday, November 29th, South Windsor held their 4th annual Holiday Hoopla Craft Fair at South Windsor High School.
This event welcomed crafters and small business owners from all parts of Connecticut to showcase their products and hand made pieces. The various products sold ranged from personalized keychains and colorful bars of soap, to jewelry and festive wreaths.
The Craft Fair allows small businesses to increase their networking among the community. This serves as a valuable opportunity for those who are just getting started.
“It gets my work out but it’s a lot of work getting everything set up and loading it up especially with pottery because it’s heavy, but it’s fun and it’s nice to get out and meet the people and have my product seen,” first year vendor, Carol Hofaister of Hofitude Pottery stated.
When asked about her first impression on the event, Hofaister expressed her satisfaction with the fair.
The Holiday Hoopla Craft Fair is loved by everyone due to its inclusivity towards all ages. One business in particular was very popular with the kids in attendance, The Cookie Jar owned by Stacy Britner. Her baked goods take on a creative twist on cookie decorating.
“I offer paint your own cookies for kids and adults. I honestly did it myself so it’s actually a lot of fun. I have platters for the upcoming holidays, and I have cookie kits so that’s fun for all ages as well.”
Not only does this event boost business for vendors, but it also serves as a fundraiser for SWHS’s Operation Graduation. These donations go towards an end of year event for the newly graduated seniors of 2025.
Overall, the Holiday Hoopla Craft Fair successfully spread holiday spirit throughout our community and unified the people of South Windsor this Winter season.
