Senior captain Adam Saada, also referred to as Sergeant Saada by his teammates, is an offensive tackle, and defensive end for the South Windsor Bobcats.
¨I think we’re gonna make it to the playoffs and keep our Route 5 trophy this year,” Saada told the Prowl.
Saada has been playing football for 9 years now and only gets better every year.
¨Adam is a great leader, and I push him every day in practice because he can’t block me. He always keeps the team on track and is a very hard worker,” junior Issac Gerber stated.
Saada’s 3rd-grade teacher influenced him to start playing. He was talking about the NFL and said he should give it a shot.
¨I have played with him for 7 years now, and he’s always been a tough player and a solid leader. He’ll have your back on and off the field,” fellow teammate and senior captain, Nihaal Thakran stated.
Saada’s inspiration to start playing was inspired by a bunch of different athletes, whether it’s Nick Bosa from the 49ers or his fellow teammate and captain, Jayshaun Barett.
¨Adam is a hard-working dedicated person that puts his best effort in everything he does,¨Barett said.
In the scrimmage against Manchester on September 5th at South Windsor High’s turf, Saada made 2 tackles for losses in the first quarter and had a major impact in the Bobcats’ scrimmage.
¨The kid has worked very hard throughout the offseason, to become a leader, and stays hard while working,” senior Will Castelhano told The Prowl.
Saada plans to play football after high school.
The first game of the football season is against Bristol Central next Friday, September 13, where Saada and the other Bobcats hope to secure their first win of the season.
