The South Windsor Girls Tennis team recently held a very successful fundraising event at the Sweet Frog on Pleasant Valley Road. The event, which took place on May 7th from 5 to 8 pm, was a delightful way for the community to support the team while indulging in a sweet treat.

The turnout was impressive, with families, friends, and team supporters flocking to Sweet Frog through the evening hours. The shop was buzzing with excitement as people conversed and donated both in the donation bin and by dropping the team’s name when buying yogurt.

Throughout the evening, there was always a member of the team present, collecting donations and encouraging patrons to mention the girls’ tennis team up front at the register. The players enthusiastically greeted customers and thanked them for their support.

“Everyone was super nice and I was so happy with the results,” Junior Captain Cassie Polansky stated, “The fundraiser was a huge success.”

Sweet Frog’s commitment to supporting local causes was evident in the partnership with the South Windsor girls tennis team, as a portion of the sales during the fundraiser hours was generously donated, helping with costs like travel and the senior night festivities.

The girls tennis team told The Prowl about their deep thanks and gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community and Sweet Frog, as the team raised over $200 in loose donations alone, not to mention the portion of sales proceeds.

“We were able to raise money that helps the team with many of our end-of-year activities,” captain Ella Luangpraseuth explained.

The successful event not only raised valuable funds but also brought the community together in a fun and engaging way, creating a sense of unity and support for the hard-working student-athletes. This collaboration exemplified the power of community collaboration in supporting local causes and businesses.
