South Windsor, CT – The South Windsor High School girls soccer team was in action again for their home opener against Avon High School. The Bobcats were looking to go 4-0 while Avon was desperate to pick up their first win of the season after losing to two quality teams in Glastonbury and Simsbury.

The game was relatively back and forth until center back and senior captain Rachel Coulter scored about 20 minutes into the match, courtesy of Jaylene Ferrabelo. The play was sparked a corner kick from sophomore Karly Suppicich.

Heading into the break, the score was one a piece after Avon had responded to Coulter’s goal about 10 minutes prior to the half. Early in the second half, it was anybody’s game as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

About 20 minutes after the break, the Bobcats took a commanding lead by way of sophomore Karly Suppicich who scored off a free kick. Avon was not able to respond, and the Bobcats went on to win the match by a score of 2-1.

The Bobcats are now 4-0 and will take on Tolland High School, in Tolland, this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Follow us for more updates on the Bobcats.
