Field Hockey Starts the Season With a Win Streak

South Windsor Field Hockey has started their season strong with two wins on their record already. The season opener put them up against Newington, who they defeated 7-0. Lead scorer of this game was senior captain Corey Callahan who is sure to have a promising season.

For the second game of the season the lady Bobcats faced East Catholic High School. Junior goalie Sarah Gallagher achieved another shut out as the team dominated, finishing with a score of 11-0.

Ali Martin, also a senior captain, was lead scorer of this game leaving the game with a hat trick. Junior Kelly Ward and sophomore Lindsey Osit both scored two goals each to add to the sweeping total.

From the looks of these first two games, the team seems to have the potential for a great season. The team faces a tough challenge playing Conard on Thursday, September 14th at West Hartford.
