BUT Tom Felton will always in my heart be the original Draco. Yet, I can’t wait to see how they include him and how the new Draco will be portrayed,” said McKenna. 

However, excitement about the new series is not universal. Others such as senior Cat Martino have expressed disappointment with some of the casting choices.  Martino, a senior and also a Slytherin House member, expressed, “Ron Weasley not being a ginger is a disappointment for America, but Dumbledore being Black is a win,” Martino says. For sure, Dumbledore being Black increases diversity for the fans.

Despite differing opinions on the casting, fans are hopeful that the new series will capture the magic of the original story while throwing in its own unique twist. With J.K. Rowling involved in the project, fans can be assured that the new series will stay true to the world she created. According to movieweb.com, “Despite the controversy, a Harry Potter series is a good thing and Max is the perfect platform to bring this beloved world to life.” Agreed!
