Are Seniors Excited or Nervous for College?

With the end of the year quickly approaching and Seniors making their final college decisions, a lot of emotions are in the air. The real question is, are Seniors excited or nervous for school? I did a lot of investigating, and I found the answer… both. The majority of Seniors believe college is both exciting and nerve racking. I asked 25 Seniors, “Are you excited or nervous for college? …. Or both?” and I recorded their responses.

 

  • Amir Clato-Day: University of Connecticut “I am excited. I’m going to UConn, but if I were going further away, I would be nervous.”
  • Kaitlyn Daly:  Monmouth University “I’m nervous. I’m the only one from South Windsor going there and I think picking a roommate is very scary.”
  • Tyler Osit: Western New England University “Both. I’m excited because I get to play lacrosse, but i’m nervous because it’s all going to be new.”
  • Quinn Hannagan: Anna Maria College “I’m excited because I get to play lacrosse again with some SWHS alumni who are playing there currently.”
  • Connor Kapisak: University of Iowa “Both. I’m mostly excited. I’m glad I have the opportunity to play division 1 football and meet new people, but I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work.”
  • Anthony Zaino: Seton Hall University “I’m excited to meet new people but I’m nervous to be away from home.”
  • Izzy Erikson: University of Connecticut “I’m excited for a change. I feel ready for college.”
  • Matt Sivo: Eastern Connecticut State University “I’m excited to meet more people and be independent and experience new things. However, I’m nervous for the college level coursework, having to make new friends, and adjusting to living in a dorm.”
  • Jenna Stoker: Sacred Heart University “I’m excited for the new experience, but I’m nervous because my program requires me to squish 4 years worth of classes into 3 years.”
  • Brittany Diaz: University of Connecticut “I’m excited because it’s a great opportunity to take some challenging courses and meet new people, but I’m a little nervous because it’s a whole new experience.”
  • Cece Fabrycki: Roger Williams University “I’m excited for a fresh start. Im looking forward to meeting new people.”
  • Caitlin Roberts: Eastern Connecticut State University “I’m really excited to experience college and meet new people outside of South Windsor. I’m also excited to take classes based off of my interests.”
  • Rachel Greenman: University of Connecticut “I’m nervous for getting used to the new routine and new classes, but i’m also very excited to meet new people and live on campus.”
  • Jaylene Ferrabelo: Central Connecticut State University “I’m excited because its a chance for me to have new experiences and meet new friends, but I’m also sad to leave all my friends from high school.”
  • Ali Martin: Western New England University “I’m excited for college because I get to continue playing field hockey, but i’m nervous for the adjustment.”
  • Zane Hamadi: Manchester Community College “I’m nervous because I’m hoping to transfer to the engineering program at UConn, but it’s going to take a lot of hard work.”
  • Rachel Coulter: Endicott College “Im excited because i’m going to make a lot of new friends, but i’m nervous because I’m going to be away from home.”
  • Reena Ezzeddine: Manchester Community College “I feel like I’m ready for college.”

  • Julian Ibes: Western New England “Im excited because it’s a new chapter in my life.”
  • Katelyn Hunter: Emmanuel College “I’m excited to live in the city, but I’m a little nervous because it’s going to be so different from living in South Windsor.”
  • Bhavana Gunda University of Connecticut “Im mostly excited because I’m nervous for a change and a new experience.”
  • Jimmy Tamburro Merrimack College “I’m excited for new opportunities.”
  • Michael Green Roger Williams University “Im nervous about the friend situation, but definitely excited for a fresh start.”
